Frequently Asked Questions

Our eye tests are £55 which includes an OCT scan, last around 45 minutes and are carried out only by qualified optometrists.

Yes - all our eye tests include an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) scan. The difference is that we spend extra time analysing the results and explaining them to you in detail.

An OCT scan (Optical Coherence Tomography) is a special type of eye scan that takes detailed 3D images of the inside of your eyes. It works a bit like an ultrasound, but instead of sound waves it uses light to capture high-resolution pictures of the different layers at the back of the eye, including the retina and the optic nerve.

This allows our optometrists to see far more than with a standard eye test - we can look beneath the surface of the retina, not just at the top layer. It helps us detect early signs of eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease, often years before you might notice any changes in your vision.

The scan is completely painless, non-invasive, and only takes a few seconds while you look into a small camera.
